ROME
ROME

Arrive and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon we will begin our walk through the "Eternal City".
Just across Corso Vittorio Emanuele II we will be in Piazza Navona. Built on the ashes of the Circus of Domitian, where they held athletic competitions, games and horse racing, it is now one of the most elegant and lively squares of Rome. The square is home to three beautiful fountains including one of the "Four Rivers", commissioned Bernini to celebrate the Jubilee of 1650. The fountain is the Ganges, symbol of Asia with an oar in his hand; The Danube of Europe sat near a horse; the Rio de la Plata in the Americas, with raised arm, and Africa's Nile, with his head covered.

Our fascinating journey brings us, then, to the nearby Piazza della Rotonda, where the Pantheon stands. This temple, dedicated to all the gods, has no windows but a single opening in the vault of about 9 meters, which is the only source of natural light of the building. Through the ages, the Pantheon has been used as a monumental tomb: there are, among others, that of Vittorio Emanuele II and Raffaele Sanzio.
Through a short walk down Via del Corso, Via Frattina and Via Condotti, you will discover the many shops, luxury boutiques and art workshops.
On the left of the square, Via del Babuino leads you in the majestic but sober Piazza del Popolo, the square was built in about three centuries and owes its present appearance to the project of Giuseppe Valadier.
Crossing the Tiber we arrive in what is an unmissable stop for those coming to Rome: St. Peter's Square, the center of world Christianity. Shrouded by the beautiful colonnade by Bernini, the square is embellished by the majesty of St. Peter's Basilica that overlooks and welcomes every year millions of pilgrims from around the world.
There will be a scheduled break for coffee halfway to try the famous italian "Espresso"!
Dinner in restaurant and overnight.
