Day 2

Breakfast at hotel followed by departure to Erice, an ancient medieval village full of archaeological treasures and also a renowned destination for its pastry shops and colorful ceramics.
We will enter the city from Porta Trapani, the only access point to the city protected on both sides by impassable steep rock walls.
Our first stop will be the Mother Church, built in 1312 by request of Frederick II of Aragon with material from the ruins of the pagan temple of Venus. Next to the Cathedral, the bell tower, also called king Frederick's Tower, 28 meters high and built at the end of the twentieth century on the remains of a previous watchtower.
Erice is home to more than sixty churches, some of which date back to the time of the Norman conquest: the church of St. Martin, the church of St. Julian and St. John the Baptist.
At the end of our walk we will stop at the magnificent Balio Gardens, inside which is the Castle of Erice, called Castle of Venus, ruin of Norman origin but extension modified over the centuries and today in disuse.
We conclude this first part of the day with a tasting of almond paste cakes and continue to Marsala, where we will visit a typical winery followed by the wine tasting typical of this resort. The story related to the birth of this liqueur wine and the many graduations it can take, is very fascinating and to have it told inside a cellar surrounded by more or less old barrels has its own why.
Typical lunch during the excursion and in the afternoon stop in Sciacca for a walk.
Famous since ancient times for its spas, Sciacca still retains interesting historical ideas within its historic center, such as its beautiful Cathedral, dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene.
At the end, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Breakfast in the hotel and departure for the visit of the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento, one of the most extensive, representative and best preserved archaeological sites of classical Greek civilization, included in 1998 by UNESCO in the list of World Heritage.
Lunch free at leisure.
Next, leaving for Piazza Armerina, a beautiful city of art, nestled in the center of Sicily, boasts a long series of monuments that tell of a glorious past. The town's flagship is the Roman Villa del Casale, dating back to the end of the 4th century. D.C. and belonged to a powerful Roman family.
Late afternoon departure to the eastern area of Sicily and hotel accommodation.

Day 4

Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure to Etna for an  excursion with a coach climb up to 1900 mt., and the possibility of excursion (with supplement) in 4x4 jeeps and a licensed guide for the visit of the main craters.
Lunch free at leisure.
In the afternoon visit of Taormina, perched on a cliff and overlooking a beautiful stretch of turquoise sea and the Ancient Theatre, built by the Greeks in the 3rd century BC and later expanded by the Romans who inserted columns and statues adapting the area of the orchestra to games and gladiatorial battles.
Free time at leisure for shopping.
Return to the hotel dinner and overnight.

**Depending on weather conditions, the ascent of Mount Etna will be limited to 700 meters with a stop at Zafferana Etnea and an opportunity to see the 1992 lava casting.

Day 5

Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning departure to Syracuse and visit of the old town (Ortigia) the oldest part of the historic center of Syracuse. Ortigia is an island connected to the mainland by two bridges, the Umbertino Bridge and the St. Lucia Bridge. In this entangled set of alleys you will find the most important monuments, interesting museums and the most beautiful view of all Syracuse. Walking along the island of Ortigia, Greco-Roman classicism can be felt everywhere and this is where we find the temple of Minerva and the Fountain of Arethusa. The Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomies and the Ear of Dionysus can’t also be lost. According to legend, it was excavated by the tyrant Dionysus of Syracuse, who thanks to the shape of the cave could secretly hear the speeches of his imprisoned enemies. Dionysius's ear boasts exceptional acoustics and if you try to speak you will find that each sound is amplified up to 16 times.

In the afternoon continue to Baroque Noto, where we will take a walk to its old town.
We will start at the Royal Gate, built by the Neapolitan architect Angelini in 1838. We go back to Vittorio Emanuele main street and we cross first the church of St. Francis of Assisi and immediately after the church of St. Clare of the Assumption. The latter was finished in 1758 by Rosario Gagliardi with the Benedictine Monastery attached. You can notice the baroque decorations with polychromes, stucco and putti. The representation of Our Lady with the child, in sixteenth-century marble, by Antonello Gagini is very important.
The cathedral of St. Nicholas completed in 1703 is one of the most significant monuments of the Sicilian Baroque. Admire the interior frescoes, including the dome made by Oleg Superenko in 2011, after the collapse of 1996 following the 1990 earthquake. Another gem of its restored heritage is Palazzo Nicolaci. The Palace of Princes is something spectacular and today, restored to its former splendour, it gives the dimension of wealth and opulence that Noto lived in a distant era. In purely Baroque style and with about 90 rooms, on a project attributed to Rosario Gagliardi, it dates back to the early 1700s.

Day 6

Breakfast in  Hotel.
Departure for Catania and walk in its historic center, which will allow us to get to know both Greek and Roman Catania through the visit of the main monuments related to classical archaeology: the Roman amphitheatre, the Greco-Roman theater, the Achilles' baths and the baths of the Rotunda, and the Baroque Catania, reborn after the terrible earthquake of 1693 and the magnificent monuments heritage of humanity. We will visit Piazza Duomo and the Cathedral of St. Agatha, the Badia of Sant'Agata, University Square, the church of the Collegiate and Via Cruciferi, the most beautiful baroque street in Catania.
Free time at leisure to explore further and have a snack with typical sicilian specialty: arancino or brioches with granita.
Continue to Cefalù, free lunch and visit of the town, with its Cathedral, the most important monument of the city full of influences of the Arab and Byzantine architectural tradition. We will visit the interior of the basilica with the famous Byzantine mosaic of Christ the Pantocrator, we will admire a beautiful wooden cross of the 15th century and all that remains in this beautiful Norman cathedral. For those who want you can also climb the towers and enjoy the beauty of the landscape that looks out to sea from the top of the ancient fortress. Leaving Piazza Duomo we will begin our walk through the historic center of the city among the characteristic alleys, medieval buildings, local trattorias and pretty local craft shops.
Free time and departure for the Western area of Sicily.

Day 7

Breakfast in hotel.
Visit of the center of Palermo with its Cathedral, the most characteristic building of the city and the Cloister of Monreale, built at the end of the 12th century, is part of the Benedictine Complex wanted by King William II, is an example of Byzantine architecture, a miracle of polychrome.
Lunch and free time at leisure for bathing in Mondello.
Return to the hotel and overnight.
