The\u00a0Park of the Aqueducts of Rome<\/strong>\u00a0is located in a green urban area of the city, which extends between the\u00a0Appian Way<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Via Tuscolana<\/strong>; it is part of theRegional Park of the Appian Way<\/strong>\u00a0and takes its name from the\u00a0papal and Roman aqueducts<\/strong>\u00a0that supplied water to the ancient city. You can easily reach this park, either by public transport or other means.<\/p>\n

This area is characterized by\u00a0ancient aqueducts<\/strong>, by the presence of Villa Vignacce, the Vecchia Roma farmhouse, a small stream and a pond, all immersed in a green area where the horizon extends as far as the eye can see. Although it\u2019s difficult to believe, the\u00a0Marcio Aqueduct<\/strong>, built in the late\u00a0nineteenth century<\/strong>,\u00a0is still working today<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Park of the Aqueducts<\/strong>\u00a0is ideal for those who appreciate local flora, for those who want to do some healthy\u00a0jogging\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0go for a bike ride<\/strong>, to relax on the pristine lawns, to have a\u00a0picnic<\/strong>\u00a0(with the possibility of barbecuing in designated areas) or to simply relax at the foot of historic monuments. It is\u00a0ideal for families with children<\/strong>, as there are also\u00a0play areas<\/strong>\u00a0equipped with inflatables, rides, a small skating rink and horses and ponies to ride. The park is also an excellent place for those who want to do use the sports areas that are equipped for exercising independently.<\/p>\n

In this park, time seems to stand still, so much so that, at times, it seems that centurions might pass by alongside men wearing a toga! In short, the park is ideal for those who want to take a break and breathe a breath of fresh air, away from the chaos and pollution of a city like Rome.<\/p>\n

Considering the huge number of visitors attending the park every year, one would think of the classic ”crowded effect” yet instead the vast area allows the dispersion of visitors in the rolling meadows and near the historical artefacts.<\/p>\n

The air you breathe is convivial and festive. People who come from the metropolis, where everything is very hectic, can finally experience a situation of well-being while enjoying the wonders of the park. It\u2019s a real panacea for the body and the spirit!<\/p>\n

It is such a unique park that has often been part of the background scenery for countless Italian and foreign films, such as the arches of the aqueducts in some scenes of the film “La grande bellezza” by Paolo Sorrentino, or as the well known film “The Marquis of the Grillo” by the Roman Alberto Sordi, or the film “La dolce vita” by Fellini, whose opening scene is a bird\u2019s eye view of the park.<\/p>\n
