DAY 1: MUSCAT

Meeting and assistance at Muscat airport, transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: MUSCAT

Muscat is the charming capital, located between the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman.
On this visit we will discover the highlights of Muscat: The Great Mosque, built between 1995 and 2001, which boasts an impressive Swarovski chandelier and a huge Persian carpet that can accommodate up to 20,000 people in prayer.
The Royal Opera House, Oman's leading artistic and cultural organization, built by a royal decree from His Majesty the former Sultan Qaboos Bin Said in 2011. The Bait al Zubair Museum, which houses a collection of traditional Omani weapons such as swords, daggers, rifles and related accessories, along with jewels, and finally Muttrah Souk, the oldest souk in Muscat, if you are planning to buy a local souvenir, this is the best place.
Photo stop at the Sultan's Palace and the forts of Jalali and Mirani before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: MUSCAT – WADI SHAB – SUR

After breakfast, departure at 8h30 for Sur, on the way we pass by Quriyat, a small fishing village then Bimmah Sinkhole, where you can see a spectacular limestone crater with blue-green water on the bottom.
Continue to Wadi Shab, a valley very popular with locals where the main attraction is nature, in particular a waterfall that falls into a cave.
Possibility to take a walk of about 2 hours to admire it.
We continue to Sur, a city enclosed in a beautiful natural bay that has played a prominent and distinguished role in maritime activity, forming a commercial and cultural bridge between the Arabian Peninsula, India, Southeast Asia and Africa. Visit of the Dhow Factory museum, where Arab wooden boats are built, still used today by local fishermen.
Check-in hotel around 17h30 dinner and departure around 20h00 towards the famous Ras Al Jinz and its nature reserve where we will observe the turtles that lay their eggs (the sighting of the turtles that lay their eggs is not, for obvious reasons , guaranteed).

DAY 4: SUR - WADI BANI KHALID - WAHIBA SANDS

Breakfast and departure for Wadi Bani Khalid, the most famous valley in the entire Sharqiyah region. The river never dries up completely, so ponds filled with turquoise and sapphire water, lined with lush, shady palm trees invite us to cool off.
We continue towards the beautiful Wahiba sand dunes, whose height can reach 100 meters and where we will arrive around 16h00, doing some dune bashing on our 4x4.
At the end of the tour, visit a Bedouin house where while sipping a coffee we will hear anecdotes of daily life. At the end we will admire the sunset from the sand dunes.
Dinner and overnight in the camp.

DAY 5: WAHIBA SANDS - BIRKAT AL MOUZ - NIZWA

Departure for Nizwa, located at the foot of Al Jabal al Akhdar (green mountain) in the south of the country. The city of Nizwa is famous for its history, culture, origins and heritage manifested in customs, traditions and crafts. The fort of Nizwa, one of the oldest in Oman, has a large round shape, seven pits and openings to mobilize the fighters who defend the fort, which was built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Y`aribi in the mid-17th century .
Nizwa Souk, on the other hand, is one of the oldest souks in Oman, dedicated mainly to fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, all housed in separate blocks behind the great wall of the city overlooking the wadi. The part of the souq (the one closest to the fort) is dedicated to handicrafts and is the ideal place for tourists looking for souvenirs.

DAY 6: NIZWA - BAHLA – JABRIN - JABEL SHAMS - MISFAH – NIZWA

After breakfast, departure for the ancient "Jabrin Castle" built for about 350 years, which was initially a teaching center of Islamic law, history, Arabic language, medicine and astrology.
Continue to Bahla, called "Madinat Al Sahar", the city of magic, because it is known through myths and legends and also as the birthplace of "Jinn".
Photo stop at the Fort of Bahla, considered a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Departure for Al Hamra, one of the best preserved historical centers in the country and home to the Bait Al Safah living museum, which we will visit to discover Omani traditions.
Departure for Jabal Shams, through a suggestive itinerary in the Hajar mountains. You reach the Mountain of the Sun (3000 meters) the highest peak in Oman from where you can admire the Grand Canyon.
At the end we will continue to the village of Missfah, characterized by narrow streets, traditional buildings made from mud and agricultural terraces surrounding the mountain, as well as its old buildings. Its houses, decorated and attached to each other, look like terraces that wave on the mountainside and offer the visitor a pleasant view.
At the end, departure for Muscat, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 7 : MUSCAT – BARKA – NAKHAL – RUSTAQ - MUSCAT

This morning we will make a photo stop at the Barka fort and then we will continue to the village of Nakhal to visit its fort, built in the architectural style of the Sultanate of Oman and particular because it was built to adapt to an irregularly shaped rock. The fort houses a museum and exhibit of historic guns.
Then proceed to Rustaq, once the capital of Oma, this is an area of ​​healing hot springs, the most notable of which is' Ain al-Kasafa. Its waters flow at a temperature of about 45 ° C.
Photo stop at Fort Rustag, built in 1711 AD, and an example of Islamic architecture in Oman.
Return to Muscat, with a stop at the Amouage factory.

After breakfast, transfer to Muscat airport.
