Enjoy our new daily tour discovering the “Ciociaria”, starting from Anagni “the city of Popes” up to the visit of the medieval castle of Piglio and ending with the tasting of an excellence of this area, the Cesanese wine.
Departure to Anagni, visit of the historic centre and of the Cathedral of Santa Maria with a precious mosaic pavement created in the 13th century by the famous Roman family of skilful workers in decorative geometric mosaic, the Cosmati. The church also includes a Crypt dedicated to San Magno, one of the most beautiful and important crypts in Europe that has gained the name of “Sistine Chapel of the Middle Ages”.
Departure to Piglio.
Upon arrival, visit of the medieval quarter and the Castle. Following is the visit of one of the agricultural holdings in the area, with guided tasting of the Cesanese del Piglio DOCG, the most known and appreciated of the three types of Cesanese DOCG that are produced in Ciociaria.
Return to the meeting point.
